Women's XC Places Fifth at New England Championships

BOSTON — The Quinnipiac University women's cross country team placed sixth at the 2023 NEICAAA Championships at rainy Franklin Park on Saturday afternoon in Boston.

The Bobcats were led by senior Marisa Keiser, who placed 16th with a 5k time of 19:03.7. Lydia Keys also recorded a top 30 finish by clocking in at 19:24.3.

STATS AND NOTES

Keiser PR'ed in the 5k race, besting her 2022 NEICAAA time by 10 seconds.
Keys also ran her fastest collegiate 5k, beating her 2022 New Englands run by just over 5 seconds.
The Bobcats finished six seconds behind Providence, with the Friars as a team clocking in at 1:38:18 and Quinnipiac's total time finishing at 1:38:24.

Quinnipiac heads south to Charlottesville, Va., and the XC23 PreNational Meet held on the campus of Virginia. The Bobcats will get a preview of the nation's best competition at the site of the 2023 National Championship.
