Bobcats Open BIG EAST Play With Victory Over Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Quinnipiac field hockey picked up its first BIG EAST victory of the season in the conference-opener, as the Bobcats downed Providence on the road, 2-1, on Friday afternoon at Lennon Family Field.
Lucia Pompeo and Stella Tegtmeier led the offense with a goal apiece, while Cristina Torres made seven saves en route to her third win of the season and the Bobcats' third straight victory.
With the win, the Bobcats improved to 3-2 to start the 2023 season and 1-0 in the BIG EAST, while Providence fell to 3-3 to begin its campaign and 0-1 to open conference play.
