Sophomore netminder one away from tying program's career mark
POTSDAM, N.Y. — Sophomore goaltender Yaniv Perets recorded his seventh shutout of the season and 18th of his career, stopping all 16 shots as the No. 2 Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey program extended its winning streak to five with a 3-0 victory at Clarkson on Friday night.
Collin Graf's 15th of the season proved to be the game-winner in the second, while TJ Friedmann and Sam Lipkin each added third-period insurance to keep the streak going.
The Quinnipiac defense anchored down in the final 20 minutes, allowing just three shots on goal after 13 got through in the first two frames. Rand Pecknold's club hit Clarkson goaltender with 33 shots on goal, including 25 in the first 40 minutes of action.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats finish the trip to the North Country tomorrow night, as a bout with St. Lawrence awaits. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m., and can be seen live on ESPN+.
