3 Bobcats Reach Double-Digits in Loss at Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team dropped their final contest of the year to the Yale Bulldogs by a score of 72-48 on Saturday afternoon in New Haven.
With the loss, the Bobcats will fall to 4-6 in the early campaign, while Yale will improve to 3-10 to start the 2023-24 season. This is Quinnipiac's first loss against the Bulldogs since November 13th of the 2019-20 season.
The two sides started out exchanging points and found themselves square at 10. Yale knocked down a two to take a 12-10 lead into the media timeout. It was much of the same out of the break before Yale pulled away to take a 19-14 lead into the second quarter. Bri Bowen led the Bobcats with five points after the first ten minutes of action.
The second quarter was all Bulldogs as they established a 15-point advantage at the half. Ava Sollenne knocked down two threes, including her first collegiate bucket.
Yale never looked back as they held the Bobcats to just ten points in the third quarter and had a 19-point lead heading into the final quarter of play.
In the final quarter, the Bulldogs continued to pull away as they outscored the Bobcats 18-13 in the final ten minutes to take home the win.

- Karson Martin had another game where she scored double-digit points as she dropped ten points.
- Martin added four rebounds and two assists.
- Bri Bowen scored a season high 10 points and was 2-2 from beyond the arc.
- Bowen recorded two steals and two rebounds.
- Grace LaBarge tied her season high with seven rebounds and two blocks.
- LaBarge added ten points in the losing effort.
- Ava Sollenne saw her first game action of the season and recorded a career high nine points. Sollenne was 3-5 from beyond the arc.
- Ella O'Donnell tied the team high with seven rebounds in the loss.
NEXT TIME OUT
- The Bobcats will be back in action on Thursday, Jan. 4, when the Bobcats play host to the St. Peter's Peacocks.
