Quinnipiac led by as much as 13 points in the first half after a Paige Girardi three-point play gave the Bobcats the double-digit advantage.
However, the Rams closed the half with a 7-0 run to cut Quinnipiac's halftime lead to 33-27 at the break.
The Rams slowly crept back in the contest in the third quarter, trimming Quinnipiac's lead to 43-41 with 3:47 left in the frame. The two sides traded points back and forth with URI carrying a 47-46 lead into the final quarter.

After the Rams took a 58-57 lead, Grisdale got to the cup and made a layup giving the Bobcats a one-point lead. However, the Rams made a free throw to tie the contest at 59-59 to give QU a chance for the win with just under 20 seconds remaining.
With a shot at a comeback win, Grisdale initiated the offense and nearly lost the ball on a double team. While falling down, Grisdale shuffled a pass to Bri Bowen in the corner who knocked down the floater from the mid range at the buzzer for the 61-59 win.
