Offense Shines Again as No. 7 Bobcats Knock off Colgate

HAMDEN, Conn. — The No. 7 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team posted its second consecutive weekend sweep, as the Bobcats knocked off Colgate 7-4 on Saturday night at M&T Bank Arena in Hamden.
The Bobcats opened the scoring just 45 seconds in, as Jacob Quillan scored his first of two on the night to earn the early advantage. Zach Tupker would double it at the 16:16 mark of the frame, as the hosts would take a 2-0 lead into the break.
A five-goal frame ensued, with Colgate tying the game at both 2-2 and 3-3, but the Bobcats would have answers each time. Collin Graf's tally at 5:46 of the second made it 3-2 and Quillan's second of the night made it 4-3 at 12:20 of the middle frame.
Quillan's marker would start a four-goal run as the Bobcats blew it open, scoring the first three of the third to take a 7-3 advantage before Colgate would get one back.

Quinnipiac heads into the Thanksgiving break with a Top 10 matchup on deck, as they head to No. 8 Boston University for a 5 p.m., puck drop at Agganis Arena in Boston.

STATS AND NOTES
- Quillan recorded his seventh, multi-goal game over his collegiate career and second of the campaign. He had a pair against Brown on Nov. 10.
- Moore finished the weekend with six assists after recording a career-high four tonight. He had three entering the weekend.
- The four helpers are also the most by a Bobcat this season and tied for the most by any player in the nation.
- Andon Cerbone added his second, multi-assist game of the season. He also dished a pair of helpers against New Hampshire on Oct. 20.
- Davis Pennington recorded his second, multi-assist performance of the season and fourth of his collegiate career.
- Quinnipiac has scored 31 goals over their last five games and are 6-0-1 over their last seven.
- 31 goals is the most in a five-game stretch by the Bobcats since Nov. 1-16, 2002 when they tallied 33.
- The Bobcats improved to 38-4-2 at M&T Bank Arena since the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
