Bobcats Come Up Short at Harvard

HAMDEN, Conn. – Jackie Grisdale scored a team-high 12 points, as the Quinnipiac women's basketball team came up short on the road against Harvard, 85-41, Sunday afternoon evening inside Lavietes Pavilion.
With the loss, the Bobcats fell to 1-1 in the early campaign, while Harvard improved to 2-1 to start the 2023-24 season.
The Bobcats opened the contest with a swift 5-0 run behind a Paige Girardi corner three and Jackie Grisdale mid-range jumper. However, the Crimson responded with a 16-2 run of their own to take a 16-7 lead into the second quarter.
The Crimson stayed hot, opening the second quarter with a 10-1 run before the Bobcats called a timeout trailing 26-8. Harvard shot 55% from the floor in the second quarter as the Crimson carried a 46-14 lead into halftime.
The third quarter was Quinnipiac's best offensively to that point, as the Bobcats scored 10 points in the frame to trim the deficit to 65-24 entering the fourth. The deficit proved to be too large for the Bobcats, as they eventually fell, 85-41.
