Bobcats Battle Elements, Tough Competition at XC23 Pre-National Race

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The Quinnipiac University women's cross country team had a few tough opponents, including the teams and the weather, at the XC23 Pre-National Race at Panorama Farms, but battled its way to a 14th place finish amongst the nation's stiffest competition at the site of the 2023 NCAA National Championship.

As high as 10th throughout the day, the Bobcats were paced by Corinne Barney, who finished the day in 59th overall after clocking in at 21:07.3. Rachel St. Germain and Liv DiStefano followed suit, finishing in 72nd and 76th, respectively, during a rainy day in Charlottesville.

The Bobcats bested ACC foe Virginia Tech by two points and also beat out regional rivals Penn and Dartmouth.

The Bobcats will be MAAC Championship bound on Saturday Oct., 28, when they head back to Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, N.Y., to defend their league title.
