HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's soccer is back at home on Saturday, October 21st as they play host to the Saint Peter's Peacocks for their "Pink Out" Game. They game will also be senior day, with a ceremony honoring the seniors prior to the game.

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's soccer is back at home on Saturday, October 21st as they play host to the Saint Peter's Peacocks for their "Pink Out" Game. They game will also be senior day, with a ceremony honoring the seniors prior to the game.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Quinnipiac women's soccer team clinched its second consecutive regular season MAAC title, defeating Mount St. Mary's by a score of 1-0 of Wednesday afternoon in Emmitsburg.
- With the win the Bobcats improved to 10-3 and 8-0 in the MAAC, while Mount St. Mary's fell to 3-4-1 in the MAAC. QU claims its second straight regular season championship (first outright) following today's contest.
- QU has now won 13 consecutive contests vs. MAAC opponents, dating back to Oct. 19, 2022.
- The Bobcats went 15-3-1 (9-1 MAAC) last season, capturing their first-ever MAAC title in Hamden on Nov. 6. QU defeated No. 5 Canisius, 1-0, in the MAAC Semifinals, then bested No. 3 Niagara, 4-0, in the championship round to complete the historic run.
- Quinnipiac scored 2.84 goals per game in 2022 – good for the second-highest scoring average in the entire nation. The Bobcats finished No. 46 nationally in RPI.
- Quinnipiac women's soccer has been selected as the preseason MAAC favorite, as announced on Thursday, Aug. 10 by the league office.
- The Bobcats earned the No. 1 spot in the 2023 Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, receiving six of 11 first-place votes and 115 total points.
- Quinnipiac saw four student-athletes named to the preseason All-MAAC team, as graduate students Markela Bejleri and Kayla Mingachos, as well as seniors Courtney Chochol and Emely van der Vliet, earned the honor.
- Head Coach Dave Clarke enters his 25th season with the Bobcats in 2023. Clarke is 218-194 over his career as a collegiate head coach (2 seasons at New Haven prior to QU).
- Clarke has firmly cemented himself as one of the premiere college coaches in the NCAA's highest division. He effectively etched his signature on Quinnipiac soccer by becoming not only the winningest coach in its history, but leading his team to an NCAA Tournament berth in 2000 and a regular season championship in 2001.
- The Bobcats then won their first MAAC championship in 2022, reaching the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Penn State.
- The Bobcats return 8 of their top 10 scorers from a season ago – led by Courtney Chochol (6 goals, 26 assists in 2022).
- QU returns five All-MAAC First Team honorees from last season: Courtney Chochol (forward), Markela Bejleri (midfield), Olivia Scott (midfield), Emely van der Vliet (midfield), Kayla Mingachos (defense).
- Quinnipiac posted a perfect 10-0 record at the QU Soccer Stadium in Hamden last year, outscoring opponents 37-6 in home contests.
- QU attempted 188 shots over 10 home matches in 2022, while opponents recorded just 92 shots.
- The defending MAAC champions will play 15 regular season games in total – hosting nine contests at the QU Soccer Stadium in Hamden. The Bobcats will also host a pair of exhibition contests vs. Loyola and UConn prior to the start of the regular season.
- "We're excited to begin our title defense this fall," Clarke said. "We have some tough preseason and non-conference opponents that will challenge us, which will help us prepare for our MAAC schedule. We have a good group of talented players for the upcoming season, and we're looking forward to getting started in August."
- The Bobcats continued the non-league slate with three consecutive home dates against Dartmouth (Aug. 27), Drexel (Sept. 1) and Stonehill (Sept. 4).
- MAAC play begins on Saturday, Sept. 9, as the Bobcats will travel to Niagara for a rematch of the 2022 MAAC title matchup. QU then plays host to Princeton (Sept. 17) and Canisius (Sept. 23) before traveling to Rider (Sept. 30).
- The month of October begins with another three-game homestand vs. Fairfield (Oct. 4), Iona (Oct. 7) and Marist (Oct. 11). Quinnipiac will travel to both Siena (Oct. 14) and Mount St. Mary's (Oct. 18) this season in MAAC play.
- The Bobcats' final home matchup of the 2023 regular season campaign will take place on Saturday, Oct. 21 vs. Saint Peter's. QU will travel to Manhattan for the regular-season finale (Oct. 25).
