Quillan Records Overtime Winner as No. 4/5 Bobcats Knock Off AIC
10/13/2023 10:21:00 PM | Men's Ice Hockey
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Jacob Quillan netted yet another overtime winner, this one clinching the first win of the season for the No. 4/5 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team, as the Bobcats came back twice to knock off AIC, 3-2 on Friday night at the MassMutual Center.
Quillan took a pass from Davis Pennington and deked out the goalie and both defenders near the net, firing it home to give the Bobcats their first win of the 2023-24 campaign in sudden victory fashion.
Quinnipiac tied the game with 3:10 to go in regulation, as Travis Treloar stuffed home the puck in front after several attempts.
The Bobcats also erased a 1-0 deficit, but that went away after Jayden Lee's slapshot from the point was deflected by an AIC defender and into the top corner.
STATS AND NOTES
The two squads will face off once again on Saturday night, this time at M&T Bank Arena in Hamden. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m., on ESPN+.
