Bobcats Earn First MAAC Win of 2022 in Thriller at Siena

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Behind a double-double apiece from Alexandra Tennon and Aryanah Diaz, the Quinnipiac volleyball team earned its first MAAC victory of the season with a thrilling five-set victory over Siena on the road Saturday afternoon inside of the Alumni Recreation Center.
Tennon posted 16 kills and 13 digs for her third double-double of the season, while Diaz added 14 kills and 12 digs for the Bobcats in the victory.

QUINNIPIAC STATISTICAL LEADERS
The two sides played to a 12-12 tie in the set before QU took three of the next four points behind a kill and a block from Nicole Legg to push ahead 15-13, forcing a Siena timeout. Out of the timeout, the Bobcats extended their lead to 17-14 before the Saints called their final timeout of the set. Siena was able to cut it to as close as 23-21 before a kill from Alexandra Tennon gave Quinnipiac set point. Giorgia Donghi secured the set with a kill to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
SET TWO (25-18)
It was a back and forth affair until QU pulled ahead 23-18. After a Siena attack error, Tennon ended the set with a kill to secure the set victory for the Bobcats 25-18.
SET THREE (13-25)
Siena jumped out to an early 9-4 lead before QU battled back to trim the deficit to 9-8 to force a timeout. Quinnipiac tied the set at 10-10 before Siena pushed ahead 13-10 to force a timeout from the Bobcats. The Saints extended their lead to 18-11 out of the timeout before going on to take the set, 25-13.
SET FOUR (15-25)
Siena got out ahead 19-9 and never looked back before taking the set 25-15.
SET FIVE (15-13)
The Bobcats found themselves down 10-4 in the set before slowly battling back to tie the set at 13-13. With the set tied, Damla Gunes scored a block at the net to give the Bobcats match point, before assisting on a kill from Tennon to take the final set and match.

- The Bobcats will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 25, when QU continues MAAC play at Marist
