LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Quinnipiac volleyball continues its MAAC slate as the Bobcats head to Loudonville for a Saturday matchup with Siena (3 p.m.), before heading to Poughkeepsie to take on Marist on Sunday (2 p.m.).
THE MATCHUP: vs. SIENA
- Saturday's match between the Bobcats and the Saints will mark the 25th meeting between the two programs
- Siena owns a 16-8 record all-time against Quinnipiac, but the Bobcats have claimed victory in the last three meetings
- The last time the two sides matched up, Quinnipiac came away with a four-set victory over Siena in Hamden on Nov. 7, 2021
- Maggie Baker led the Bobcats to victory with 14 kills in the win over Siena on Nov. 7, 2021
- Siena enters the contest at 3-8, but 1-1 in MAAC play
- The Saints split the opening weekend of MAAC play, falling in three sets against Iona on Saturday, before downing Manhattan in sweeping fashion on Sunday
- Sara Wagner leads the Saints with 118 kills on the season, while Emily Wunder narrowly trails with 114
- Sunday's contest between the Bobcats and Red Foxes marks the 21st meeting between the two teams
- Marist is 16-4 all-time against Quinnipiac
- The last time the two sides faced off, the sixth-seeded Bobcats upset the third-seeded Red Foxes in thrilling fashion in the MAAC Quarterfinals on Nov. 19, 2021
- Qu saw four different players tally double-figure kills in the match, led by Lexi Morse's and Nicole Legg's 14 kills apiece
- Marist enters the weekend at 6-6, but 2-0 in MAAC play after sweeping Manhattan and Iona this past weekend

- Senior Aryanah Diaz got off to a hot start to open MAAC competition
- Diaz recorded a double-double in back-to-back contests this past weekend on the road at Niagara and Canisius to open MAAC play
- Diaz opened the weekend with 26 kills and 11 digs against the Purple Eagles and followed with 18 kills and 15 digs against the Golden Griffins on Sunday
- After the opening weekend of MAAC action, Diaz is tied for the MAAC lead in kills (44) and second for total points (46) in conference-only contests
- First year Ginevra Giovagnoni's 89 kills on the season ranks ninth in the MAAC, while her 2.97 kills per set sits ninth in the MAAC
- Giovagnoni has led the Bobcats in kills in three matches this season
- Giovagnoni was named the MAAC Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday, Aug. 30
- This was the first weekly award honor for Giovagnoni this season after just two games played
- She combined to tally a team-best 31 kills, 15 digs, two service aces and a block in Quinnipiac's opening matches against Stony Brook and Fordham
- Giovagnoni recorded nine kills, eight digs and two service aces in the Bobcats' opener at Stony Brook

- First year Damla Gunes has made an instant impact for the Bobcats through nine games
- Gunes' 207 assists on the season is tops on the team and ranks sixth in the MAAC

- Gunes tallied 55 assists and 12 digs against Fordham on Aug. 27 for the first double-double of her collegiate career
- She is the first Quinnipiac player to tally 50 or more assists twice in a season since Maria Pansari did so six times in 2018
- Her 55 assists in a contest stands as the most assists in a match by a MAAC player this season, doing so twice
- Sophomore Alexandra Tennon's 116 kills on the season ranks fourth in the MAAC, while her 3.31 kills per set sits fourth in the MAAC as well
- Alexandra Tennon was named to the All-Tournament team after totaling 43 kills, 30 digs and six blocks at the Comfort Inn-vitational hosted by Morehead State
- Tennon led the Bobcats in kills in all three matches, posting team-high amounts of 11 kills (Morehead State) and 16 kills twice (North Alabama/Robert Morris)
- The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 1 when they travel to take on Fairfield in a MAAC matchup
- First serve is set for 1 p.m.
- Head Coach Kyle Robinson enters his fourth season with the Bobcats
- Robinson has led the Bobcats to 28 wins in three seasons and two MAAC Tournament berths
- Robinson has led QU to appearances in the MAAC Championship (2019) and MAAC Semifinals (2019, 2021)
- QU earned 11 wins in last season, including nine against MAAC opponents
- Earning All-MAAC First Team honors as a senior in 2021, Nicole Legg returns as a graduate student

- Aryanah Diaz returns for her senior campaign after leading the Bobcats and ranking eighth in the MAAC with 293 kills in 2021
- Diaz tallied 339 digs in 2021, the second most on the team
