ORONO, ME. – Quinnipiac field hockey continues its 2022 campaign as the Bobcats head to Orono, Maine for the weekend for matches against Dartmouth (Saturday) and Maine (Sunday).
THE MATCHUP: vs. DARTMOUTH
- Saturday's matchup between the Bobcats and the Big Green will be the first ever contest between the two programs
- Sunday's matchup between the Bobcats and the Black Bears will be the 18th contest between the two programs
- Maine holds a 13-4 against Quinnipiac and has claimed victories in each of the last nine contests
- The last time the two sides faced off, Maine came away with a 4-0 victory in Orono on Oct. 13, 2019
- The Black Bears enter the weekend at 0-2 after suffering losses against No. 25 UMass (4-3) and No. 1 Northwestern (5-1)
- Quinnipiac field hockey battled in the 2022 home opener on Friday, Aug. 26, falling 3-1 vs. New Hampshire in non-conference action
- Lucia Pompeo scored the lone goal for the Bobcats, finding the back of the cage 1:37 into the second half of action. Stella Tegtmeier assisted the score.
- Pompeo's goal was the second of her collegiate career
- Amanda Funaro contributed a defensive save in the contest

- Main announced the addition of Abby Lucas as an assistant coach on July 26

- Quinnipiac's fall 2022 schedule features 19 regular season contests in total.
- The Bobcats will host 10 home games at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium
- QU begins BIG EAST play on Friday, Sept. 16, when the Bobcats travel to Philadelphia for a date with Temple
- The Bobcats then return home to the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium for their BIG EAST home opener against UC Davis on Sept. 19
- QU earned three wins at home last season (Fall 2021) with two coming in overtime
- The Bobcats scored a season-best five goals in a 5-4 thrilling overtime win over BIG EAST foe Villanova on Oct. 22, 2021
- Emilia Massarelli returns for her sophomore season after earning 2021 All-BIG EAST Second Team honors as a first year
