Tegtmeier Scores Twice in Bobcats' 4-1 Victory Over Dartmouth

ORONO, ME. – Three different Bobcats found the back of the net as the Quinnipiac field hockey program earned its first win of the 2022 campaign, as the Bobcats downed Dartmouth, 4-1, on the road at the Maine Field Hockey Complex on Saturday afternoon.
Stella Tegtmeier scored the first two goals of her collegiate career, while Josie Sweeney found the back of the net for the first time in her career as well. Eva Veldhorst registered a goal and an assist in the contest, while first year goalkeeper Cristina Torres earned her first win in net.

QUINNIPIAC SCORING SUMMARY
- Q1 – (14:52) – Off a penalty corner, Olivia Howard took a shot on goal but it was blocked by a Dartmouth defender. Eva Veldhorst corralled the miss and fired it home for a goal
- Q2 – (19:30) – Veldhorst received the entry from a corner and shuffled the pass to Stella Tegtmeier on the lower far end of the goal. Tegtmeier fired low for the score to put QU up 2-0.
- Q2 – (25:17) – Josie Sweeney took control of the ball after a scramble in the offensive zone. She carried the ball left and fired a shot past the keeper while falling to her left to give Quinnipiac a 3-0 lead.
- Q2 – (29:43) – Tegtmeier carried the ball into the offensive zone on the near side of the goal. While falling to her right, Tegtmeier fired the shot home over the left shoulder of the keeper for the goal to extend the Bobcats' lead to 4-1
- Three different Bobcats scored in the victory
- Tegtmeier tallied two goals in the contest for the first goals of her collegiate career
- With four points on the day, Tegtmeier pushed her career total to 10
- Veldhorst's goal in the first quarter was the second of her career
- Veldhorst tallied a goal and an assist in the win
- The three points in the win marked her first points in a game since 2019
- Sweeney's goal in the second quarter was the first goal of her collegiate career
