Bobcats Sit in Fourth After Day One at Hartford Invitational

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. – Quinnipiac junior Kaylee Sakoda led Quinnipiac to a fourth place finish after day one at the Hartford/Gillette Invitational, hosted by Hartford on Friday afternoon at the Gillette Ridge Golf Club.
Sakoda led a Bobcat group that saw two competitors finish within the top-10, as Sakoda is tied for fifth,while Mia Grzywinski is tied for ninth.
The Bobcats sit in fourth place among seven teams after shooting 335 (+47) to close day one of the event. Penn holds the lead in first place after shooting 311 (+23), 15 strokes ahead of second place Fairfield.
Sakoda tied for fifth place after shooting a 79 (+5) to open play. Grzywinski followed by tying for ninth place. Grzywinski shot an 81 (+9) in the first round.
Amanda Tully and Emily Luu rounded out QU's grouping, tying for 21st and 32nd, respectively. Tully shot 85 (+13 ), while Luu shot 90 (+18) to close day one of play.
The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday, April 16, when they conclude play at the Hartford/Gillette Invitational.
