HAMDEN, Conn. – Mackenzie DeWees led the way with 13 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and three steals, as the Quinnipiac women's basketball team downed MAAC foe Rider in the regular-season finale, 71-49, at home inside of the People's United Center on Saturday afternoon.

Mikala Morris contributed 10 points, eight rebounds and two blocks, while Sajada Bonner added 10 points in the victory.

The Bobcats closed the regular season with a 19-10 record on the season and a 14-6 mark in the MAAC with the victory, securing the No. 2 overall seed for the upcoming MAAC Tournament.

The Bobcats used the first half of the first quarter to outscore Rider 10-5 before taking a 21-8 lead into the second quarter
Quinnipiac's lead reached as much as 14 points in the first half before Rider cut the deficit to 25-15 midway through the second quarter
The Bobcats closed the half with a 9-4 run to take a commanding 36-19 lead into the break
Rider used the first six minutes of the second half to outscore QU 10-3, trimming the Bobcats' lead to 39-29 with four minutes remaining in the third quarter
QU was able to withstand the run, extending its lead to 45-32 by quarter's end
The deficit proved to be too much for Rider as QU eventually held on for the 71-49 win
