Caverly's 18 Points Leads QU Past URI in First Round of WNIT

KINGSTON, RI – Rose Caverly led the way with 18 points to guide the Quinnipiac women's basketball team past Rhode Island, 61-50, in the first round of the WNIT on Friday evening inside of the Thomas M. Ryan Center.
Mikala Morris added 14 points and nine rebounds, while Sajada Bonner contributed nine points and six rebounds in the victory.
The win marked Quinnipiac's fifth ever win in a national postseason tournament and the Bobcats' first national postseason tournament victory since ninth-seeded QU defeated the eighth-seeded Miami Hurricanes in the 2018 NCAA Tournament on March 17, 2018.

- The Bobcats held URI to just nine points in the third quarter
- After URI cut Quinnipiac's lead to five points with 9:50 to go in the fourth, the Bobcats responded with a 10-4 run to take a 52-41 lead with 3:49 left in regulation
- The lead proved to be too much for the Rams, as the Bobcats held on for the 61-50 victory
