Quinnipiac Defeats St. Lawrence in ECAC Quarterfinals

HAMDEN, Conn. – Graduate student Griffin Mendel scored a pair of goals on Friday night, lifting the top-seeded Bobcats to a 4-1 victory over eighth-seeded St. Lawrence. The win gives Quinnipiac a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three ECAC Quarterfinal series, which they can finish tomorrow night.

Mendel's two-goal night was the first multi-goal outing of his career.
The Bobcats dominated the faceoff circle, winning 44 draws to SLU's 18.
Both teams were 0-for-2 on the power play and both blocked eight shots.
Yaniv Perets made 19 saves in the win.
Zach Metsa tallied his team-leading 33rd point of the season with his assist on Lombardi's goal.
