QU's 61-50 Victory Extends Streak to Five Straight Wins
HAMDEN, Conn. – Behind 15 points and 15 rebounds from Mikala Morris, the Quinnipiac women's basketball team defeated MAAC rival Marist, 61-50, Thursday evening inside of the People's United Center to extend the Bobcats' win streak to five games, its longest of the season.
Amani Free added 13 points and two blocks, while Rose Caverly contributed eight points, eight rebounds and five assists in the victory.
The Bobcats improved to 13-7 on the season and 8-3 in the MAAC with the win, while the Red Foxes fell to 6-13 on the campaign and 4-7 in conference-play with the loss.

- After Marist pushed its lead to 26-17, Quinnipiac closed the half with a 12-5 run to cut the deficit to 31-29 at the half
- Quinnipiac held Marist to 10 points in the third quarter, pushing ahead 43-41 into the fourth
- With the two sides tied 45-45, the Bobcats went on a 12-0 run to take a 57-45 lead with 2:45 remaining in regulation
- The lead proved to be too much for Marist, as they eventually fell 61-50
- The win extended the Qunnipiac's win streak to five games, its longest of the season
- Mikala Morris led the way with 15 points and 15 rebounds for a double-double
- The double-double was her seventh of the season, which is tops on the team
- Morris added a season-high four blocks in the victory
- Amani Free added 12 points, three rebounds and two blocks
- Free has reached double-figure scoring in five straight games
- Rose Caverly contributed eight points, eight rebounds and five assists
- Makenzie Helms added eight points, four rebounds and four assists
- The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 5, when Quinnipiac travels to West Long Branch, N.J. for a MAAC rematch with Monmouth
