Bobcats Fall Short in OT at Fairfield

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team fell short in overtime, 59-54, on the road against in-state MAAC foe Fairfield inside of the Webster Bank Arena Thursday evening.
Mikala Morris led the way with 18 points, 20 rebounds, two blocks and two steals in the loss, while Rose Caverly added 15 points and six assists.
The Bobcats fell to 15-9 on the season and 10-5 in the MAAC with the loss, while the Stags improved to 18-6 on the campaign and 15-1 in conference-play with the win.

- However the Stags were able to stave off the Bobcats, holding a 31-28 lead at the break
- Fairfield narrowly outscored QU 13-12 in the third quarter to take a 44-40 lead into the fourth
- Mikala Morris and Rose Caverly tallied back-to-back scores to knot the game at 44-44, forcing a Fairfield timeout with eight minutes left in regulation
- Fairfield responded with five swift points to go up 49-44 before QU called timeout with 6:39 remaining in regulation
- The Bobcats outscored the Stags 8-3 over the final six minutes of regulation to knot the game at 52-52 and force overtime
- Fairfield held QU to just two points in overtime, as the Stags went on to secure the 59–52 victory
- Mikala Morris posted 18 points, 20 rebounds, two blocks and two steals
- It marked her team-leading 11th double-double of the season
- Morris has recorded a double-double in five consecutive contests
- Her 20 rebounds marked the second time in her career where she has grabbed 20 or more boards
- Rose Caverly contributed 15 points and six assists
- Caverly scored nine of her 15 points in the first half
- Mackenzie DeWees added 10 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals
