Bobcats Celebrate Senior Day With Sweep Over Rider

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's volleyball celebrated its Senior Day in style with a sweep in three sets over MAAC foe Rider at home inside of Burt Kahn Gym on Sunday afternoon.
Prior to the match, Quinnipiac women's volleyball recognized its two seniors in Alisa Mejia and Aryanah Diaz, then proceeded to host a postgame party to celebrate their accomplishments.

SET ONE (25-20, Quinnipiac)
The two sides traded points to a 9-9 tie in the set before Quinnipiac took three of the next four points to push ahead 12-10, forcing a Rider timeout. Out of the break, Rider went on a 4-2 run to tie the set at 14-14. The Bobcats responded with a 6-2 run, capped by a service ace from Ginevra Giovagnoni, to take a 20-16 lead. QU never looked back in the set, going on to take the set 25-20.
SET TWO (25-16)
Quinnipiac came out on fire in the second set, opening the frame with a swift 5-0 run. Quinnipiac built its lead to as much as eight points at 19-11 and maintained that distance through the set before taking the frame, 25-16.
SET THREE (25-17)
The two sides battled to a 5-5 tie before Quinnipiac went on a 14-5 run to take a commanding 19-10 lead to force a Rider timeout. The Broncs never recovered, as the Bobcats cruised to a 25-17 set win and sweeping match victory.

- Diaz added nine digs in the victory
- Damla Gunes posted 35 assists, five digs and five service aces
- Faavae Kimsel Moe led the Bobcats with 11 digs
- Seven different Bobcats recorded a block apiece
- The Bobcats will head to the ESPN Wide World of Sports at Disney for the MAAC Tournament held from Nov. 16-20
