MANCHESTER, N.H. - No. 7 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey defeated Saint Anselm by the final score of 6-1 on Friday, Oct. 7 at Sullivan Arena. The Bobcats move to 5-0 so far in 2022-23.

Graduate transfer Shay Maloney recorded a hat trick to lead the way for the Bobcats. Captain Lexie Adzija, assistant captain Sadie Peart, and Maya Labad all recorded a goal in the victory, and seven Bobcats tallied an assist.

(07:22, 1^st period, PP) Quinnipiac 0, Saint Anselm 1: The Hawks broke the Bobcats shutout streak on the power play in the first as Tyra Turner managed to slip one passed netminder Logan Angers right hand side.
(13:41, 1^st period, PP) Quinnipiac 1, Saint Anselm 1: The Bobcats responded to the Hawks power play goal with one of their own as captain Lexie Adzija scored her third of the season with assists from Jess Schryver and Kendall Cooper.
(11:05, 2^nd period, PP) Quinnipiac 2, Saint Anselm 1: Special teams were solid today as Sadie Peart tipped a shot from Cooper in front of Hawks goaltender Allie Kelley to go five-hole and give the Bobcats the lead.
(05:40, 3^rd period, EV) Quinnipiac 3, Saint Anselm 1: Maya Labad extended the Bobcats lead to two as she redirected a beautiful centering feed from Peart off the faceoff to beat Kelley on the left side.
(06:54, 3^rd period, EV): Shay Maloney recorded her first goal as a Bobcat when she cycled through the zone and ripped a pass from Chantler off the post and in.
(09:37, 3^rd period, SH): Maloney's second goal of the night came short-handed when she made a diving play to bury the rebound from a shot from Maddy Samoskevich.
(14:06, 3^rd period, EV): A two goal night wasn't enough for Maloney as she tallied her first hat trick of the season after deflecting a shot from graduate captain Zoe Boyd.

NOTES:

Maloney recorded her first goal and hat trick as a Bobcat.
Boyd and Cooper both notched their first assists on the season in their first game.
Captain Lexie Adzija is closing in on the 100-point club as she sits at 98 points with today's power play goal, she now has three special teams goals on the year.
Chantler and Mobley continue to pad their stats as both student-athletes recorded assists on the night.
Cooper and Mobley each tallied two assists in the 6-1 victory.
The Bobcats outshot the Hawks 49-6 through 60 minutes.
Quinnipiac dominated the faceoff circle once against going 46-25 at the dot.
