
No. 7/8 Bobcats, No. 3 North Dakota Battle to Wild 5-5 Tie

GRAND FORKS, N.D. — No. 7/8 Quinnipiac and No. 3 North Dakota each had a lead on Friday night but neither team ended with it, as the Bobcats and Fighting Hawks ended matters 5-5 at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
The Bobcats jumped out ahead, taking leads of 3-0 and 4-1 thanks to goals from four different goalscorers.
Joey Cipollone, Cristophe Tellier, Jacob Quillan and TJ Friedmann all recorded tallies as the Bobcats led by three at the halfway mark of the game but North Dakota would score four unanswered, including three in a span of 2:22 in the third, to take a 5-4 advantage with 11:43 to play in regulation.
Quinnipiac would race back, as CJ McGee slapped a rocket home 2:08 later to knot the proceedings again and produce the final scoreline of 5-5.
Yaniv Perets made 38 saves on the night, including 29 in the first two periods.

- Perets' 38 saves are a new career high, besting the 31 he had in the ECAC Quarterfinals against St. Lawrence on March 11, 2022.
- Quillan recorded his third career goal and first since Oct. 29, 2021. Friday night was also his third-career multi-point game and his second in four outings, dating back to last year's NCAA Tournament matchup with Michigan.
- The first two goals of his collegiate career, Tellier has recorded tallies in back to back contests.
- McGee struck for his first goal of 2022-23 and his first tally since Oct. 29, 2021.
- Quinnipiac's five goals as a team are the most since they put up that number in the NCAA Tournament last season, a 5-4 win over St. Cloud State. The seven assists and 12 points are also highs for the 2022-23 campaign.
