QU Completes 26-Point Comeback at Niagara Behind 26 Points from Grisdale

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team completed a 26-point comeback to extend its win streak to four straight games, as the Bobcats defeated Niagara on the road, 85-79, Saturday afternoon inside of the Gallagher Center.
Jackie Grisdale led the way with career-highs of 26 points and four assists, while Mackenzie DeWees added 18 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and two steals in the victory.
The Bobcats improved to 12-7 on the season and 7-3 in the MAAC with the win, while the Purple Eagles fell to 7-11 on the campaign and 4-6 in conference-play with the loss.

- The Purple Eagles used the opening three minutes of the contest to jump out to an 11-4 lead before the Bobcats narrowed the gap to 15-11 at the midway point of the opening quarter
- Niagara outscored Quinnipiac 12-2 over the final 4:15 of the quarter to carry a 27-13 lead into the second quarter
- The Purple Eagles used the first six minutes of the second quarter to go on a 15-2 run, extending their lead to 41-15 before carrying a 47-27 lead into the break
- After Niagara extended its lead to 56-34, the Bobcats responded with a 7-0 run to force a timeout by the Purple Eagles at 56-41 at the midway point of the third quarter
- Trailing 63-43 with three minutes left in the third quarter, the Bobcats closed the period with a 12-2 run to cut the deficit to 65-55 entering the fourth
- The Bobcats carried their run into the fourth quarter, outscoring the Purple Eagles 30-14 in the quarter to surpass the Purple Eagles and hold on for the 85-79 win
- Quinnipiac trailed by as much as 26 in the comeback victory
- The 26-point comeback victory is tied for the second largest comeback victory in NCAA Div. I women's basketball history
