Young cruises to a third place finish to lead the squad

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Quinnipiac women's cross country team took second place overall at the Stony Brook Season Opener on Saturday, Sept. 4. Senior Emily Young finished in third overall to lead the Bobcats, recording a time of 14:15.60 in the 4k race.

Three Bobcats made their debuts in the gold and navy: Grace Michaud, Lydia Keys and Heather Feuchtenberger tallied 17th, 22nd and 47th place finishes, respectively.

Individual Results (Top 30)

Young tallied a time of 14:15.60 and finished in third place. Her time was a career best in the 4k.
Sophomore Alessandra Zaffina recorded a seventh place finish (14:43.80).
In 11th place, sophomore Liv DiStefano notched a time of 14:45.80.
Right behind DiStefano, graduate student Amanda Carlson recorded a time of 14:48.10 in 12th place.
In her first meet as a Bobcat, Michaud recorded a time of 15:06.80, leading the rookies and taking 17th place.
In her first collegiate meet, first-year Lydia Keys notched a time of 15:08.90, finishing in 18th place.
Junior Marisa Keiser tallied a time of 15:13.60, which is a new career best in the 4k.
Senior Kate Gihorski finished in 31st place with a time of 15:23.90.
