Uchida, Zhang Continue Strong Showing at BC Intercollegiate

CANTON, Mass. – Quinnipiac Women's Golf finished their 54-hole tournament this afternoon in sixth place, putting together the third lowest round of the day for the field.
Out of the 15 competing schools, the Bobcats found themselves just outside of the top-5 in their first tournament of the 2021-22 season. John O'Connor's squad finished with a three-round score of 909 (+45), coming up just five strokes short behind Columbia.
Some new faces contined to shine for the Bobcats. Sophomore Aimee Uchida finished T10 individually scoring 77 (+5), 75 (+3) on Monday and 72 (E) on Tuesday. First Year Fuge Zhang came into the clubhouse T16, shooting a total of 227 (+11) through 54-holes. First Year Elyse Kim followed closely behind, shooting 76 (+4) in all three rounds to finish T22.
First Year Meg Yoshida showed resiliency, improving her score after each round of play and ending the tournament with a 235 (+19) to finish tied for 38th in her first experience in competitive play as a Bobcat.
Junior Leeyen Peralta came surging back with a 78 (+6) and 76 (+4) over the final two rounds to finish T48.
The Yale Bulldogs came away victorious with a team total of 884 (+20), followed closely by Boston College and Boston University to round out the top three.

- Uchida is the only Bobcat to birdie the Par 4 5th hole throughout all three rounds
- Zhang comes away with 37 (+1)
- Kim leads the field in scoring on Par 3 holes, averaging 2.83 strokes per hole and an overall -2 score.
- Fairfield's Grace Kryscio records a hole-in-one on the Par 3 7th in the final round
- Quinnipiac was impressive on Par 3's, leading the field in scoring at +8
- The Bobcats finished sixth in number of birdies made in three rounds with 23.
