First Year Leads the Way Again for QU Golf

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Quinnipiac golf finished the opening round of the 2021 Navy Fall Invitational with a score of 316 (+28). John O'Connor's team finds themselves tied for 6^th in the thirteen-program field. QU is four strokes behind host Navy and twelve strokes behind the Richmond Spiders. The Bobcats will look to build on their momentum tomorrow in the final round of the tournament.

First year Fuge Zhang continues her strong start to the season carding a 77 (+5) in her first round. Sophomore Aimee Uchida followed closely behind finishing with a 79 (+7). Senior Darby Lillibridge began her 2021-22 campaign with an opening round of 81 (+9) at the Naval Academy Golf Course.

First Year Elyse Kim and senior Elena Lopez both came into the clubhouse with a score of 80 (+8). Junior Mia Grzywinski competed as an individual, carding an 83 (+11) to round out the Bobcats performance.

Richmond finished the first round with a 304 (+16) to lead the tournament after day one.

Quinnipiac finished top 3 in total birdies made with 10.

The Bobcats will play again tomorrow at the Naval Academy Course before hosting the Quinnipiac Classic in Wallingford, Connecticut on October 11 and 12.
