Main Adds DiSanti as Volunteer Coach/Data Analyst
HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac field hockey head coach Becca Main has announced the return of Jill DiSanti '04 to Quinnipiac as a volunteer coach and data analyst for the team.
After a successful playing and coaching career at Quinnipiac, DiSanti coached at four Division I institutions and won two MAAC Championships with the Monmouth Hawks, making two NCAA appearances as the associate head and assistant coach.
"I am very excited to rejoin the Quinnipiac field hockey program and have the opportunity to work alongside an amazing staff," DiSanti said. "I cannot wait to start working with the team to help mentor, inspire, and develop the group as both student-athletes and people. Personally, I had a wonderful experience as a Quinnipiac student-athlete and coach and have always been thankful for it. Becca, the administration and alumni have supported me every step of the way over the last 15 years of my coaching career, and I am extremely appreciative to have such amazing advocates. Quinnipiac has always been home to me and I am grateful for the opportunity."
DiSanti played on the Quinnipiac field hockey team from 2001-2004 and served as the captain her senior year. She will return to Quinnipiac after serving as a coach for the field hockey programs at Lafayette, Monmouth and Wagner. She most recently served as the assistant field hockey coach at Lafayette until March 2020. Before Lafayette, DiSanti was responsible for the launch of the first Division I field hockey team at Wagner and was the head coach from 2018-2019.
At Monmouth, DiSanti saw great success with the Hawks in the MAAC and spent 11 years on the staff. She was promoted to the associate head coach in July 2015 and stayed with the program until 2018. DiSanti led the Hawks to four-straight MAAC regular season champion titles, two MAAC Championships in 2014 and 2016 and made two NCAA tournament appearances in the same seasons. In 2021, she was named the USA Field Hockey Nexus Coach for the New Jersey region. She was also the head field hockey coach for the USA Field Hockey Futures Program from 2008-2011.
In addition, DiSanti is the co-founder, owner and a head coach at the Surf & Sand Field Hockey Club, which was established in 2009. The club is operated year-round for athletes of all ages and is an active participant at United States Field Hockey and National Field Hockey Coaches Association sanctioned events.
DiSanti also served as an assistant coach with Main from 2004-2008 after her playing career at Quinnipiac. As a Bobcat, DiSanti was inducted into the Quinnipiac Hall of Fame in 2012, and in 2009, the program named the team's Best Defensive Player Award after her. She graduated from Quinnipiac with her Bachelor's degree in sociology in 2004 and later graduated from Monmouth with a Master's degree in Corporate and Public Communications.
