Cooke Nets Game Winner in Overtime as Bobcats Take Down Fairfield

Quinnipiac advances to semifinal game on Monday, April 12 in Hamden
HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac women's soccer team posted back-to-back shutouts against Fairfield after defeating the Stags, 1-0, in overtime on Friday afternoon. First-year Rebecca Cooke scored the overtime winner off a break-away goal to lift the Bobcats to a 1-0 victory. First-year Sofia Lospinoso had a stellar game, recording seven saves in her third-straight shutout win.
The Bobcats will move on to the MAAC Tournament semifinal game on Monday, April 12. The Bobcats will face the No. 3 Monmouth Hawks at home.

- (107' – Quinnipiac 1, Fairfield 0): Graduate student Kelsey Goldring flicked on a header from right above midfield to send first-year Rebecca Cooke in behind the Stags' back line. Cooke was left open in a huge gap in the middle and raced to a break-away with Fairfield's keeper, Gena Pike. Cooke made a move to the left of the keeper and placed the ball safely into the back of the net to earn the walk-off 1-0 victory.
- Cooke netted her fourth goal of the year and now has 10 points to lead the team. Her 10 points (1.67/g) is good for second-best in the conference behind Rider's Makenzie Rodrigues. Her four goals is ranked third in the conference.
- Goldring tallied her first assist of the season.
- Lospinoso made seven saves in the shutout win. She now had three shutouts on the season and has not allowed a goal in 286 minutes.
- Fairfield had seven shots on net, as compared to Quinnipiac's five.
- The Bobcats had four corners, and the Stags had three.
- Fairfield's Allie Kirby and Cooke had three shots on net to lead all players.
Quinnipiac will host No. 3 Monmouth on Monday, April 12 at 3 p.m.
