Halley Named Second Team All-BIG EAST

Field Hockey Has Had an All-BIG EAST Honoree in Every Season Since Joining League
- #BIGEASTFH REGULAR SEASON AWARDS AND ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS ANNOUNCED
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Quinnipiac field hockey junior defender Jess Halley (Glasgow, Scotland) has been named to the Second Team All-BIG EAST, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
She is the sixth Quinnipiac field hockey player to earn All-BIG EAST honors. Bianka Strubbe '20 most recently earned second team honors in 2019, while Elisa Ruiz Martinez '19 earned two selections in 2017 and 2018, Lauren Belskie '18 was a first team selection in 2017 and both Angie King '17 and Savanna Reilly '17 earned second team honors in 2016.
Halley's second team All-BIG EAST honors are her first career postseason honors from the league and marks six straight seasons Quinnipiac has had an all-league selection.
The Bobcats have had a player earn all-conference recognition every seasons since joining the Division I ranks for the 1998 season.
Halley set career-highs with two goals, two assists and six points as she played every minute of Quinnipiac's nine games in the 2020-21 season. She assist goals in the first two games of the season and had her first career two-goal game with a pair of tallies in a 2-0 shutout at Providence on March 21.
Halley played a critical role for the Bobcats as she moved to centerback for the season and anchored Quinnipiac's defensive unit.
In her career, Halley has played all 44 games, and totaled three goals and six assists for 12 points.
