HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac field hockey dropped a conference match, 7-0, on Friday afternoon at the QU Field Hockey Stadium in Hamden.

The Huskies scores once in the first quarter, four times in the second, and twice in the third quarter of action.

SCORING SUMMARY

8:14 (Quinnipiac 0, UConn 1): Sophie Hamilton scored with 6:46 left in the first quarter, making it 1-0 Huskies early in Hamden.
16:12 (Quinnipiac 0, UConn 2): Claire Van den Noort scored off a feed from Jessica Dembrowski just 1:12 into the second quarter of action to give UConn a two-goal advantage.
17:03 (Quinnipiac 0, UConn 3): Less than one minute later, Dombrowski then fed Van den Noort again for the Huskies third goal of the game.
22:53 (Quinnipiac 0, UConn 4): Van den Nooort registered her third goal of the contest in the 23^rd minute of play. She scored after UConn generated three consecutive penalty corner chances – with assists credited to Sophie Hamilton and Anna Horan.
25:47 (Quinnipiac 0, UConn 5): Claire Jandewerth scored on a great feed from Sophie Hamilton to make it 5-0 UConn in the second quarter.
34:43 (Quinnipiac 0, UConn 6): Van den Noort scored her fourth goal of the day. UConn applied offensive pressure, recorded a string of shots on goal, then Van den Noort found the back of the net on assists from Dombrowski and McKenna Sergi.
40:55 (Quinnipiac 0, UConn 7): McKenna Sergi scored the final goal of the contest for UConn, carrying the ball all the way into the circle and blasting one into the back of the cage.

NOTES

First year goalkeeper Nina Santore made four saves for the Bobcats, while sophomore Mack Vorel stopped one shot in relief of Santore.
UConn outshot Quinnipiac 24-1. The Huskies earned seven penalty corner chances.
Julianna Cappello recorded the lone shot for the Bobcats, which came in the second quarter.
