Cooke Leads Bobcats at Rider in 2-2 Draw

HAMDEN, Conn. – Coming off her MAAC Rookie of the Week honor, first-year Rebecca Cooke led the Bobcats in a thrilling comeback to secure a 2-2 tie with the Rider Broncs. Cooke scored twice in the tie and led Bobcats back to force overtime.
Quinnipiac went down 2-0 early in the first half after two goals scored by Rider's Makenzie Rodrigues. Cooke netted her first career goal in the 33rd minute to take the score to 2-1 going into halftime. Later in the 86th minute, Cooke scored to tie the game and force extra time. The teams played the entire 20 minutes of overtime without scoring a goal and finished the game tied at 2-2.
Quinnipiac and Rider both move to 1-0-1 overall and in MAAC play.
Sophomore Olivia Scott and first-year Courtney Chochol both tallied assists on Cooke's goals. The Bobcats outshot the Broncs 23-10 with nine shots on goal.

- (6' – Quinnipiac 0, Rider 1): The Broncs scored the first goal of the game early into the first half. Rider's Makenzie Rodrigues netter her third goal in two goals after Ailis Martin sent a long ball over the Quinnipiac back line; Rodrigues chipped the ball over Meaghan Phillips to score.
- (20' – Quinnipiac 0, Rider 2): Rodrigues tallied her second goal of the game and fourth goal of the season inside the 18-yard box to give Rider a 2-0 lead.
- (33' – Quinnipiac 1, Rider 2): Quinnipiac got on the board after a goal from first-year Rebecca Cooke. Sophomore Olivia Scott secured the ball in Bobcats' attacking third and sent a through ball past three Rider defenders to find Cooke in the box. Cooke placed the ball in the bottom left corner to put the Bobcats within one goal of the Broncs.
- (86' – Quinnipiac 2, Rider 2): Chochol won back the ball outside of the 18-yard box near the endline and drove it across the box. Cooke was dashing into the box and finished Chochol's cross first time past Rider's Ellie Sciancalepore.
- Cooke has tallied two goals and two assists in her first two games as a Bobcat.
- Chochol recorded an assist in the tie and has one goal and one assist this season.
