Quinnipiac Runs Unbeaten Streak to 10 Games
TROY, N.Y. – First year goaltender Yaniv Perets earned his second straight shutout and fifth of the season as #4/4 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey blanked Rensselaer on Friday night in Troy, N.Y. Senior Michael Lombardi and graduate student Oliver Chau took care of the scoring for the Bobcats in the win.
With the win, Quinnipiac runs its current unbeaten streak to ten games and has outscored ECAC opponents 16-2 this season.
Lombardi opened the scoring in the first period after he stripped an RPI player of the puck at the QU blue zone and streaked the length of the ice before making a strong move across the crease for his fourth tuck of the season. The unassisted goal proved to be the game winner thanks to Perets' 18-save clean sheet.
Chau potted an empty netter in the game's final minute to run his point streak to four games and inch closer to the 100-point mark for his career (97).
