Quinnipiac Holds Yale to Six Points in Fourth Quarter in Home Victory
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team held Yale to just six points in the fourth quarter to hold on for a 61-59 victory Wednesday evening inside of the People's United Center.
Junior forward Cur'Tiera Haywood scored a team-high 15 points, while junior guard Sajada Bonner added 14 points and three steals to secure the Bobcats' second consecutive victory.

- Yale was able to cut Quinnipiac's lead to 16-12 before the Bobcats used the final 2:26 of the quarter to outscore the Bulldogs 7-5 to carry a 23-17 lead into the second
- After falling behind 25-17, Yale responded by outscoring Quinnipiac 10-5 to trim its deficit to three to force a Quinnipiac timeout with 6:13 remaining before the break
- The Bobcats used the final 5:50 of the half to outpace Yale 11-4 to carry a 41-31 lead into the break.
- The run was capped by a three-pointer at the buzzer courtesy of Mackenzie DeWees
- Yale used the opening six minutes of the second half to go on a 16-4 run to take a 47-45 lead, its first of the game
- The Bulldogs outscored the Bobcats 22-10 in the quarter to take a 53-51 lead into the fourth quarter
- Quinnipiac held Yale to just two points over the first eight minutes of play in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs 10-2 during the run to take a 61-55 lead
- The Bobcats' run was snapped by a Yale three to trim Quinnipiac's lead to 61-58 with two minutes left in regulation
- Yale was able to cut it to as close as 61-59 with a chance to tie or win the game in the final possession
- However, Quinnipiac forced Yale into two missed shots to secure the 61-59 victory
- Cur'Tiera Haywood scored 10 of her 15 team-high points in the first quarter
- Haywood's 15 points marked the second consecutive game where she reached double-figure scorinng
- Sajada Bonner added 14 points and three steals off the bench
- It marked the second consecutive game where she provided double-figure scoring off the bench
- Mackenzie DeWees tallied seven points and game-highs of eight rebounds and four steals in the victory
- The Bobcats were outscored 22-10 in the third quarter
- Quinnipiac held Yale to just six points in the fourth quarter
- The Bobcats will be back in action on Tuesday. Dec. 8, when they close its three-game homestand with a contest against Northeastern
