
Third Period Surge Sends Bobcats Past Princeton

Three Bobcats score in the final 15 minutes to give QU a 3-1 win over the Tigers
PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 8 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team downed the Princeton Tigers, 3-1, on the road Friday night, handing Princeton its first loss of the season. The Bobcats scored three goals in the final 15 minutes of the third period after trailing 1-0. Sophomores Nina Steigauf and Sophie Urban and junior Jess Schryver scored to lift the Bobcats over the Tigers.
Graduate student Corinne Schroeder recorded 25 saves and tallied her sixth win of the season. Urban scored her first collegiate goal of her career and Schryver netted her first goal as a Bobcat.
The Bobcats improved to 11-0-2 on the season, tallying the team's fifth straight win and extending the unbeaten streak to 13 this season. Quinnipiac and Clarkson remain the only two teams in the conference with an undefeated ECAC Hockey record.

- (15:26, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 0, Princeton 1: Annie Kuehl netted her second goal of the season to give Princeton a 1-0 lead. Grace Kuipers and Kate Monihan tallied helpers on the goal.
- (6:57, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Princeton 1: The Bobcats tied the game a little over a minute later off a goal from Steigauf. Senior Lexie Adzija secured the puck in the Bobcats offensive zone on the rush from redshirt junior Courtney Vorster. Adzija drove to the net, and Steigauf was there to bury the rebound on the back side past Princeton's Rachel McQuigge. Sophomore Olivia Mobley also recorded an assist on the goal.
- (10:46, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Princeton 1: Urban scored a rocket of a goal from the middle of the Bobcats' offensive zone and scored top-shelf past McQuigge. Junior Sadie Peart and senior Zoe Boyd notched assists.
- (13:27, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 3, Princeton 1: Schryver scored her first goal as a Bobcat from the same spot as Urban's goal and also went top-shelf past McQuigge. Adzija and Vorster tallied assists on the goal.
NOTES
- Schryver and Urban scored their first goals of the season. Schryver now has 11 points on the year with one goal and 10 assists. Urban netted the game-winning goal.
- Steiguaf tallied her fifth goal of the year. The sophomore now has five goals and four assists for nine points.
- Adzija added two assists in the win and now has 14 points this season. This is her third multi-point game of the season.
- Peart, Boyd, Mobley and Vorster also added helpers.
- Schroeder made 25 saves in the win, recording her sixth win and allowing just one goal against.
- There was only one penalty called in the game on the Bobcats. Quinnipiac killed off the penalty in the third period, allowing just one shot against.
- Quinnipiac out shout the Tigers 34-26.
- Adzija led the team in the faceoff circle, winning 12 of 21.
