
QU Takes Fourth at New England Championships

BOSTON, M.A. - The Quinnipiac women's cross country team competed at the NEICAAA 2021 Cross Country Championship on Saturday afternoon. Senior Emily Young continued her strong performance this season with another top-20 individual finish for the Bobcats. She took 14th overall in the Women's 5k Varsity run with a career-best time of 18:01.8.
The Bobcats finished fourth overall as a team in both the Women's Varsity and Sub Varsity 5k Races. Twelve different Bobcats record personal-best times in the 5k races.

- Senior Emily Young led the team in the Women's 5k with a time of (18.01.8) and finished in 14th place and recording a career-best time.
- Sophomore Liv DiStefano took 18th place with a time of 18:12.1, which is also a personal-best time.
- In 24th place, sophomore Alessandra Zaffina recorded a career-best time of 18:26.2.
- Senior Amanda Carlson took 38th place with a personal-best time of 18:40.2.
- Senior Kate Gihorski finished in 65th place (19:16.6 - personal best).
- Junior Marisa Keiser placed 87th with a time of 19:32.3.
- Not far behind Keiser, first-year Lydia Keys finished with a time of 19:34.1 in 89th place.
- Graduate student Heather Feuchtenberger led the Bobcats with a time of 19:27.5 in the Women's 5k Sub Varsity, taking 15th place overall. Her time was a career best.
- Sophomore Jada Dennis was right behind Feuchtenberger with a time of 19:31.7 in 16th place, which was also a career-best time.
- In 21st place, first-year Grace Michaud finished with a time of 19:44.7.
- Not far behind Michaud, sophomore Corinne Barney notched a time of 19:46.9, finishing in 22nd place and tallying a personal best.
- Sophomore Ana Caliri took 24th place, recording a time of 19:53.8, which is a personal best.
- Junior Clare Veverka took 27th place (19:59.6).
- Junior Cassidy Phillips took 35th place with a personal-best time of 20:10.4.
- Right behind Phillips in 36th place, was sophomore Asia Mercier who recorded a personal-best time (20:12.8).
- Senior Katie Bradley took 41st place with a career-best time of 20:17.3.
- In 43rd place, senior Mia Pestle recorded a time of 20:19.1.
- Senior Samantha Leal took 65th place (20:56.7).
- First-year Christina Gunsalus tallied a time of 21:09.7 in 75th place.
- Senior Madeleine Shellard notched a time of 22:15.1 in 117th place.
- Quinnipiac will take on the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday, Oct. 22.
