Schroeder Makes 31 Saves in Bobcats' 3-1 at Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 8/8 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team remains undefeated through 10 games this season after taking down Yale on Saturday afternoon at Ingalls Rink. Three different Bobcats scored in the win, and graduate student Corinne Schroeder tallied 31 saves in an outstanding performance between the pipes.
Juniors Kate Reilly and Alexa Hoskin and sophomore Nina Steigauf all scored in the win. The Bobcats improve to 8-0-2 on the season and 2-0-0 in ECAC Hockey play.

SCORING SUMMARY
- (19:11, 1st period, PP) – Quinnipiac 1, Yale 0: The Bobcats got on the board late in the first period on a power play goal. Sophomore Kendall Cooper sent the puck across the ice to sophomore Olivia Mobley on the left side. Mobley passed the puck to junior Kate Reilly on the right side back-door, and she hit a wrister home past Yale's Pia Dukaric.
- (12:46, 2nd period, PP) – Quinnipiac 1, Yale 1: The Bulldogs found its first goal of the game on the power play. Vita Poniatovskaia netted her second goal of the season from Charlotte Welch and Emma Seitz.
- (16:36, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Yale 1: Graduate student Taylor House recovered the puck off a turnover in the Bobcats' offensive zone and found sophomore Nina Steigauf on the right back-door. Steigauf sent a rocket past Yale's Dukaric to give Quinnipiac a 2-1 lead.
- (16:36, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 3, Yale 1: The Bobcats sealed the 3-1 victory off a 2-versu-1 breakaway goal. Junior Alexa Hoskin gained possession in the Bobcats' defensive zone and passed it to junior Sadie Peart. Peart skated down the ice and passed it back to Hoskin, who scored from the right side.
- Reilly and Steigauf both netted their second goals of the weekend.
- Hoskin scored her seventh goal of the year.
- House also tallied her second point in the last two games.
- Schroeder made 31 saves in the win, improving to 4-0-1 on the season.
- The Bobcats were out shot by the Bulldogs 31-19.
- Quinnipiac held the edge in the faceoff circle, winning 29 out of 55 faceoffs (53%).
