Midfielder to Join Bobcats in Fall 2021
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's soccer has received a commitment from Ryan Lim, as announced by Head Coach Eric Da Costa and the Bobcats on Thursday, Jan. 28.
Lim – a midfielder from Marlborough, Connecticut – will join the Bobcats in the fall of 2021. He attended Rham High School, serving as the soccer team's captain as a senior. Lim earned 2020 Team MVP for his efforts, was selected CCC First Team All-Conference, and also earned Connecticut All-State recognition.
"Ryan and his entire family are welcomed additions to our program and University community," Da Costa said. "Ryan is an extremely well-balanced young man. Not only is he a talented player, but he is also an exceptional student. Ryan has a laser focus and quiet determination to continue to elevate his game. He will thrive in our environment and we look forward to being part of his journey."
The midfielder also earned All-Academic honors during both his junior and senior campaign. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society and received multiple AP scholar awards. During his spare time, Lim helped tutor middle school students and worked with the local community to help provide meals for families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I chose Quinnipiac because of the excellent coaching staff that I'm familiar with, and the top-level program that the Bobcats have established. I was also drawn to the variety and excellence of the academics that the school has to offer, which fits perfectly with my educational ambitions. On top of all that, the school has a tremendous campus and state-of-the-art athletic facilities – which demonstrates the high level of commitment that the school has toward its students and athletes.
"On the field, I'm looking forward to helping continue the success that the program has had by helping the team win a MAAC title and get to the NCAA Tournament. Off the field, I'm excited to be a part of the great family-like atmosphere that has been established in the program. I also look forward to becoming a valuable member of the school community while obtaining a degree in political science."
