House Nets OT Winner to Send Bobcats Past Golden Knights

Bobcats Take Down #9/10 Clarkson in Thrilling OT Victory
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team defeated the No. 9/10 Clarkson Golden Knights, 2-1, in overtime on Saturday afternoon. Senior forward Taylor House netted the overtime winner, and redshirt-sophomore Logan Angers recorded a career-high 35 saves in the win.
Junior Lexie Adzija is on a four-game goal streak after scoring early in the third period to give Quinnipiac a 1-0 lead. First-years Kendall Cooper, Maddy Samoskevich and Olivia Mobley tallied assists in the win, and redshirt-sophomore Courtney Vorster added a helper, as well.
After the 2-1 overtime win, the Bobcats remain undefeated at home this season (5-0) and earned the team's first ECAC win. This is also Quinnipiac's first win of the season against a top-ten team.

SCORING SUMMARY
- (2:41, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Clarkson 0: Senior Lexie Adzija scored the Bobcats' first goal early in the third period. First-year Kendall Cooper received the puck from first-year Maddy Samoskevich and shot from the right side. Adzija buried the rebound past Clarkson's Michelle Pasiechnyk to give Quinnipiac the 1-0 lead.
- (17:59, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Clarkson 1: Clarkson's Nicole Gosling tied the game late in the third period off a snipe from the left dot.
- (1:17, OT, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Clarkson 1: Redshirt-sophomore Courtney Vorster sent the puck to first-year Olivia Mobley on the right side in the neutral zone. Mobley passed across the ice to senior Taylor House, who skated down the ice towards the net and scored the game-winner past Pasiechnyk.
- Adzija scored her sixth goal of the year and currently leads the team with 13 points. She is on a four-game goal streak.
- House recorded her third goal of the year and first game-winning goal. She is third on the team in points with nine this season.
- Angers had a stellar game in the net for the Bobcats, and notched a career high 35 saves with just one goal against.
- The Bobcats' first years shined in the win – Samoskevich, Cooper and Mobley all recorded assists in the win. Mobley made the game-winning pass to House in overtime.
- Quinnipiac edged Clarkson in shots on goal, 37-36. The Bobcats are 6-0 this season when the Bobcats outshoot their opponents.
- The Bobcats dominated in the faceoff circle, winning 67% of faceoffs taken. Adzija led the way winning 21 of 26 faceoffs.
- The Bobcats earned their first ECAC win of the season. Clarkson moved to 0-3 in conference play.
Quinnipiac and Clarkson will play again tomorrow, Sunday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. in Hamden.
