Bobcats Set for Spring Break Trip to Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. – Quinnipiac women's tennis is set for its spring break trip down to Florida this week, as the Bobcats will participate in four non-conference matches in Orlando and Altamonte Springs.

2019-20 STATISTICS
- Senior Layla Rodriguez leads the program with 15 total wins so far this season, including a 10-7 mark in singles action. Rodriguez earned her 100th career victory at the 2019 West Point Invite, while winning the main draw D Singles title during the same weekend.
- First Year Andie Williams has 12 total wins (nine singles matches, three doubles matches), Kamilla Nella has won 12 matches (seven singles, five doubles), and First Year Jordan Bradley has nine victories (six singles, three doubles).
- Payton Bradley/Kamilla Nella and Layla Rodriguez/Amy Zammarieh have led the way in doubles action, as both duos have won three matches together.

- Quinnipiac women's tennis has been tabbed No. 2 in the 2020 MAAC Women's Tennis Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020.
- The Bobcats finished with 42 total points, just five points behind Fairfield for the top spot in the conference. Quinnipiac women's tennis earned two wins in the fall portion of the 2019-20 schedule, both coming on Oct. 5 in Hamden vs. St. Francis and Sacred Heart.

- Quinnipiac's 2019-20 roster is compiled of three freshman (Jordan Bradley, Emmie Lindholm, Andie Williams), one sophomore (Kamilla Nella), three juniors (Payton Bradley, Dominique Vasile, Stephanie Yanosov) and two seniors (Layla Rodriguez, Amy Zammarieh).
- The Bobcats went 11-14 overall in 2018-19, posting a perfect 6-0 record in MAAC play and advancing to the conference championship match.
- Head Coach Paula Miller and the Bobcats finished the 2018-19 season with an 11-14 overall record. Quinnipiac went a perfect 6-0 in regular season MAAC play, extending the program's regular season conference winning streak to 43 games – the longest active streak in NCAA Division I tennis.
- The Bobcats topped Siena in the semifinal round of the 2019 MAAC Tournament, advancing to the conference's title game for the sixth straight season since joining the MAAC in 2013-14.
- Quinnipiac women's tennis earned eight All-MAAC honors this past season, and the program placed a league-high eight student-athletes on the MAAC All-Academic list.
- Quinnipiac Director of Tennis/Women's Tennis Head Coach Paula Miller unveiled the program's schedule for the upcoming season on Monday, July 22.
- The Bobcats' schedule will begin with two tournaments – the Quinnipiac Invitational in Hamden (Sept. 13-15) and the Army Invitational in West Point (Sept. 27-29). The program will also play at home vs. Sacred Heart (Oct. 5) and at Rider (Oct. 6) in the fall season.
- The Bobcats will play just one MAAC match in the fall season on Oct. 6 vs. Rider, then will play Niagara, Monmouth, Siena, Fairfield and Marist in the spring.
- Paula Miller has named senior Layla Rodriguez and junior Payton Bradley as the program's captains ahead of the 2019-20 season, as announced on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
- "We're excited to announce Layla Rodriguez and Payton Bradley as captains for the 2019-20 season," Miller said. "Both Layla and Payton have the ability to lead our program on and off the court through hard work and dedication, and they have both been instrumental in continuing to build our program."
- Rodriguez enters her senior season with 94 career wins, needing just six more to reach 100. She was named MAAC Rookie of Year during her first season with the Bobcats in 2016-17, tallying 43 total wins (17 singles wins, 26 doubles wins). She then recorded 30 more wins as a sophomore in 2017-18 (15 singles wins, 15 doubles wins), followed by a 21-win season last year in 2017-18 (10 singles wins, 11 doubles wins). Rodriguez earned First Team All-MAAC honors in singles (No. 5) and doubles (No. 3) as a freshman, was named First Team All-MAAC in No. 4 singles as a sophomore, then earned Second Team All-MAAC status in No. 3 doubles as a junior.
- Bradley – a rising junior – will enter her third season with the Bobcats with 49 total wins. She won 25 matches as a freshman in 2017-18 (11 singles wins, 14 doubles wins), then tallied 24 more wins last season in 2018-19 (14 singles wins, 10 doubles wins). She earned First Team All-MAAC honors in No. 3 singles as a freshman, then was named to the All-MAAC First Team in No. 3 doubles as a sophomore.
