House records career-high five points to lead Quinnipiac

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team downed the Sacred Heart Pioneers, 9-1, on Monday evening. Eleven Bobcats recorded points in the win – Taylor House recorded five points (1 goal, 4 assists), which is a career high single-game point total for the senior. The Bobcats tallied 61 shots and won 50 of 57 faceoffs against the Pioneers.

(4:32, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Sacred Heart 0: Sophomore Kenzie Hauswirth received the puck from first-year Nina Steigauf in the corner. Hauswirth took the puck around the net and shot top-shelf past Sacred Heart's Frankie Sanchez.
(16:47, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Sacred Heart 0: Senior Renee Saltness tallied her first goal of the day off a nice pass into the slot from senior Taylor House. Sophomore Alexa Hoskin also tallied an assist on the play.
(9:56, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 3, Sacred Heart 0: Saltness scored her second of the game and third of the year off a stellar redirect. House shot from the right side and Saltness tipped it past Sanchez. Hoskin also recorded her second assist of the day.

Quinnipiac dominated the faceoffs, winning 50 of 57 (87.8%). Adzija was almost perfect on the faceoff, winning 19 of 20.
The Bobcats went 1-5 on the power play and the Pioneers went 0-1.
Quinnipiac allowed just nine shots on goal.
Sacred Heart's Frankie Sanchez made 52 saves.
Quinnipiac's nine goal scored is the most since Feb. 22 against Brown where the Bobcats won, 9-1.
