
Volleyball Sweeps Doubleheader at Knights Fall Classic

Bobcats Win Fourth Consecutive Match
HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Quinnipiac volleyball team swept a doubleheader at the Knights Fall Classic on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats defeated both Fairleigh Dickinson and Morgan State in 3-0 sweeps.
The Bobcats were led in the first match by Kaleigh Oates with 15 kills, and they tallied eight aces as a squad.
In the second match, the Bobcats fought off five set points in the first set to take go up 1-0 in the match, and they would never look back. The win against Morgan State marked the Bobcats fourth straight victory.
With the 3-0 weekend at the Knights Fall Classic, it is the first time in the Division 1 era that a Quinnipiac volleyball team went undefeated in a tournament.

SET ONE
Aryanah Diaz got the match going with a kill, which would propel the Bobcats to winning the first three points of the set. FDU would win four straight points in the set to tie the score at nine. FDU would call a timeout with Quinnipiac leading 16-12, but the Bobcats would not let the timeout kill their momentum. They came out of the timeout and won four straight points, and would close out the set, winning 25-21.
SET TWO
FDU would tie the set up at three, but the Bobcats would win four straight points to open up a 7-3 lead. The Knights would call a timeout with Quinnipiac extending their lead to 9-4. Quinnipiac would continue to dominate the set, pushing their lead to as much as 12 points in the set. A service error from FDU would clinch the set for the Bobcats, winning 25-14.
SET THREE
FDU began the set with a 4-1 lead, but the Bobcats would use two kills from Kaleigh Oates and a kill from Morgan Sherwin to tie the set up at four. The Bobcats would win seven straight points to extend their lead to 15-7, forcing a FDU timeout. The Bobcats would never let FDU back in the set, winning 25-18.

Morgan State got out to a 3-0 lead in the set. Both teams would trade points throughout the middle part of the set with only one or two points separating the score. The Bobcats would fight back in the set to take the lead 17-16 on a Morgan Sherwin kill. Quinnipiac would call a timeout with the set tied at 19. Down 24-21, the Bobcats would fight off five set points to take the first set 27-25.
SET TWO
Both teams would battle to a 7-7 tie in the set. A Morgan State service error would give the Bobcats their first advantage in the set, giving the Bobcats a 9-7 lead. Morgan State would take a 15-11 lead, but the Bobcats would win six straight points to take a 17-15 lead to force a Morgan State timeout. The Bears would be forced to call their last timeout of the set with the Bobcats leading 22-19. The Bobcats would close out the set 25-20 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
SET THREE
Morgan State would get out to an early lead in the set, but Quinnipiac would win six straight points to take an 8-4 lead. The Bobcats would continue to lead throughout the set, building a 16-10 lead. Morgan State would never come close to taking the lead and the Bobcats would win the set 25-12.
