Williams, Bradley, Lindholm Each Win First Career Match in Tournament

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's tennis kicked off the 2019-20 season this weekend at the QU Tennis Courts, as the Bobcats completed the 2019 Quinnipiac Invitational in Hamden.

Andie Williams (A Singles), Layla Rodriguez (B Singles Consolation) and Amy Zammarieh (D Singles Consolation) all earned Day 2 wins to advance to their respective semifinal rounds for the Bobcats. Kamilla Nella earned both a singles and doubles victory during Day 1, and the Bobcats won six matches during the first day of the tournament in total. Andie Williams, Jordan Bradley and Emmie Lindholm all won their first career match at Quinnipiac on Friday, as well.

Day 1 Notes:

Payton Bradley and Kamilla Nella earned an impressive win in A Doubles, taking care of business by the final score of 6-1.
Layla Rodriguez and Amy Zammarieh cruised to a 6-0 win in B Doubles.
Nella's second win of the day came in A Singles. She'll take on UConn's Julieanne Bou tomorrow in the second round.
Freshman Andie Williams also advanced to the second round in A Singles (1-6, 6-4, 10-8) – earning her first career win at Quinnipiac.
Freshman Jordan Bradley earned a win in C Singles (6-2, 6-1) – which also marks her first career win with the Bobcats.
Emmie Lindholm joined the other two Bobcats' freshman by picking up her first career win, earning a Doubles B victory.

Day 2 Notes:

Freshman Andie Williams advanced to the semifinal round of A Singles, which will take place on Sunday.
Captain Layla Rodriguez advanced to the semifinal round of the consolation bracket for B Singles. She will take on Providence's Julia Migliorini on Sunday.

Day 3 Notes:

Freshman Andie Williams advanced to the semifinal round of A Singles, which will take place on Sunday.
Captain Layla Rodriguez advanced to the semifinal round of the consolation bracket for B Singles. She will take on Providence's Julia Migliorini on Sunday.
Amy Zammarieh advanced to the semifinal round of D Singles, as well.

Day 3 Notes:

Andie Williams, Layla Rodriguez and Amy Zammarieh all finished the tournament in the semifinal round with a loss.
