Bobcats Advance to MAAC Semifinals for Sixth Consecutive Season
ALBANY, N.Y. – Three Quinnipiac basketball players scored in double figures Friday afternoon as the Bobcats advanced to the MAAC Women's Basketball Tournament Semifinals with a 63-48 victory over the No. 9 seed Fairfield Stags at the Times Union Center.
Quinnipiac's victory extended its overall winning streak to 19 games while its winning streak against MAAC opponents hit 50 consecutive games.
Aryn McClure (Springfield Gardens, New York) filled the stat sheet for the Bobcats as she tallied 15 points with six assists and four rebounds while Jen Fay (Lynbrook, New York) chipped in 13 points and six rebounds and Brittany Martin (Sicklerville, New Jersey) added 12 points in the winning effort.
The Bobcats jumped out to an early 12-0 lead in the first 4:56 of Friday's quarterfinal game and added a separate 11-0 lead from the third quarter into the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach against the Stags.

- Quinnipiac started the game on a 12-0 run from the opening tip through the first 4:56 of the game to take control and never look back
- The Bobcats closed out the first quarter with a 16-5 lead led by Fay's seven points
- McClure led Quinnipiac with seven points in the second quarter but the Bobcats and Stags traded baskets as Fairfield outscored Quinnipiac, 17-15

- The Bobcats recorded their 50th consecutive win against MAAC opponents, including the postseason, just the 11th women's basketball program in NCAA history to record a winning streak of 50 or more games against conference opponents
- Quinnipiac has reached the MAAC Semifinals all six years since the Bobcats joined the conference and have now made eight straight conference semifinal appearances dating back to the 2011-12 season when they were in the Northeast Conference
- Strautmane recorded her 200th career block in the quarterfinal win and is just the fourth Quinnipiac player in program history to record 200+ blocks.
- Strautmane also had six rebounds to cross the 700-rebound mark and is one of nine players with 1,000 points in and 700 rebounds in her career
- McClure recorded four rebounds to cross the 800-rebound mark in her career, becoming the seventh player in program history to record 800 rebounds in a career.
- She scored 15 points, reaching double figures for the 16th time this season and moved into 12th on the all-time scoring list with 1,331 career points
- McClure's six assists ae her second-most on the season and most since she recorded eight, also against Fairfield, on Jan. 3
- Martin recorded eight of her 12 points in the fourth quarter Friday afternoon, including a pair of three-pointers to give her four straight games with a three-pointer
