Bobcats Limit Saints to One Field Goal in First Half
HAMDEN, Conn. – Jen Fay matched a season-high with 24 points and Brittany Martin added 18 points as the two seniors outscored Siena in a 67-38 win for the Quinnipiac women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon. The win completes the second-straight unbeaten regular season in conference play for the Bobcats, who have now won 49 MAAC contests in a row.
The Bobcats held the Saints to just one field goal in the entire first half and forced 17 Siena turnovers in the wire-to-wire win.

- The Bobcats took control of the game from the opening tip and never looked back. The visitors scored the first 18 points of the game and only allowed two Siena points (two free throws) in the first quarter, taking a 20-2 lead into the first break.
- The Bobcats did not make the second quarter any easier on the home squad, as the NCAA's fourth-ranked scoring defense held Siena to just one made field goal and five total points.
- Leading 37-7 at halftime, the Bobcats were on the receiving end of a quick offensive flurry at the start of the third quarter. Siena outscored Quinnipiac, 17-9, in the first eight minutes of the period, cutting the lead to 46-24. The Bobcats responded with a 10-4 stint to erase the earlier Saints' run.
- Both teams struggled to score in the fourth quarter, combining for just 21 points on 7-26 shooting.
- Fay earned her fourth double-double of the season, and second-in-a-row, with her 24-point, 13-rebound performance. The redshirt senior was 10-13 from the floor (77%) and added two assists and a steal.
- Martin followed Thursday's career-high, 20-point effort with 18 against Siena. The senior knocked down four three-pointers for the third time this season and added three rebounds and an assist.
- Paula Strautmane, Quinnipiac's Division I leader in career blocks (199) had five rejections on the afternoon along with 11 points, six rebounds, and three assistss in her seventh double-digit outing in ten games.
- Quinnipiac held Siena to 12-50 from the field (24%), the second-lowest percentage by any Quinnipiac opponent this season.
- The Bobcats improve to 13-0 all-time against Siena, one of five MAAC opponents that have never beaten Quinnipiac.
- Quinnipiac finishes the regular season unbeaten in MAAC play, running its overall conference winning streak to 49 games, tied for the 11th-longest in Division I history.
- Quinnipiac's 18-game win streak is the second-longest active streak in the nation, only one game behind #1 Baylor.
- The Bobcats begin play in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship tournament at 1:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon as they await the winner of the #8 vs. #9 game in the opening round of the tournament.
