Bobcats Cruise to 12th-Straight Win
HAMDEN, Conn. – Junior Paige Warfel posted a career-high for the second-straight game, this time with 18 points, to lead the Quinnipiac women's basketball team to a 68-51 victory over the Canisius College Golden Griffins on Senior Day on Saturday.
Warfel's output was once again supplemented by a double-digit outing from senior Paula Strautmane, who scored 14 points in the win.

- The first seven minutes of the first quarter were tightly contested, but the Bobcats pulled away with ten unanswered points over the final 2:12 of the period. Senior Edel Thornton capped the run with a pull-up three-pointer to beat the buzzer.
- Quinnipiac scored the first six points of the second quarter to extend the lead to 16 points, but Canisius slowed the hosts down for the rest of the frame and cut the deficit to 12 at halftime.
- The teams traded buckets for most of the third quarter, with the Bobcats adding three points their lead with ten minutes remaining in the game.
- After D'Jhai Patterson-Ricks opened the fourth quarter with a layup, Quinnipiac put the game away with an 11-2 run in a 3:30 span. The run gave the hosts their largest lead of the day at 22 points.
- Canisius closed to within 14 points in the final minutes, but junior Taylor Herd scored the final five points for QU to finish off the win.
- Quinnipiac extended its winning streak to 12 games and remain the only unbeaten team in the MAAC.
- The Bobcats improve to 14-0 all-time against the Golden Griffins. Canisius is one of five MAAC teams that have never defeated Quinnipiac.
- Warfel added one assist and a steal to her second-straight dominant performance. The game marks the ninth time in 12 games that the junior has pulled down at least six boards and the ninth time in that span that she has scored at least ten points.
- Warfel was 6-6 from the free throw line and has now hit her last 12 free throws, dating back to the second quarter of the Rider game.
- Strautmane also contributed four rebounds, four steals, and two blocks in the win.
- Senior Aryn McClure narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds on Senior Day. She also added three assists and three steals.
- Senior Edel Thornton scored seven points and posted an impressive six assists without committing a turnover.
- Sara Hinriksdottir posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Canisius.
