Bobcats Allow Just Six Points in First Half
RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Quinnipiac women's basketball allowed just one point in the second quarter and six points in the first half of a dominant 64-39 victory over Manhattan on Friday evening in Riverdale, New York.
Aryn McClure led all Bobcats scorers with 12 points, supplementing a defensive effort that forced 25 Manhattan turnovers and held the Jaspers to 27.3 percent shooting (15-55).

- After Manhattan opened the scoring with an early layup, the Bobcats scored 13 of the next 16 points to end the quarter with a 13-5 lead.
- Quinnipiac scored 11 straight to open the second quarter and did not allow a Manhattan field goal for the entire 10-minute period. The Jaspers' first and only point came on a free throw with 16 seconds remaining.
- Both offenses came out firing in the third quarter, combining for 41 points in the frame after just 30 total in the whole first half.
- Thanks to a buzzer-beater three from Edel Thornton at the end of the third, the Bobcats took a 23-point advantage into the game's final period.
- Manhattan stayed tight in the fourth quarter as well, but the Bobcats outscored the hosts 17-15 in the period, closing out a 64-39 victory.
- Quinnipiac extended its winning streak to 13 games and remain the only unbeaten team in the MAAC.
- The Bobcats improve to 11-1 all-time against the Jaspers.
- Junior Taylor Herd hit double-digits for the first time in four outings, scoring eight of her 10 points in the first half. The Pennsylvania native outscored Manhattan's entire team in the first half.
- Redshirt senior Jen Fay returned to the lineup after missing nearly five games due to injury. Playing in her home state, Fay posted nine points along with three rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
- McClure tallied 12 points in the win, her fifth double-digit performance in her last seven games. The senior added four boards, two assists, and two steals.
- Thornton hit a three-pointer at the third quarter buzzer to extend the Quinnipiac lead. It was the second-consecutive game that the Ireland native beat the buzzer from long distance.
- The Bobcats forced 25 turnovers in the victory, marking the 15th time this season that an opponent has turned the ball over 20 or more times against Quinnipiac.
- The one-point second quarter marked the second time since 2017 that Quinnipiac's defense has allowed a single point in a quarter. The last occurrence was February 23, 2017 against Marist.
