Quinnipiac Defeats Niagara for Second Time This Season
HAMDEN, Conn. – Junior Paige Warfel recorded a career-high 15 rebounds along with 12 points to power Quinnipiac women's basketball to a 62-42 victory over the Niagara Purple Eagles on Thursday evening.
Senior Paula Strautmane complimented Warfel's double-double with 13 points and eight rebounds. The performance was Strautmane's third-straight game in double figures.

- The first quarter of this meeting was the complete opposite of Quinnipiac's blowout win at Niagara last month. The Purple Eagles scored the game's first five points and took a 14-13 lead into the game's initial break.
- The Bobcats took charge with a commanding 16-3 run in the first eight minutes of the second quarter. The hosts pushed Niagara to the brink a with an 18-7 effort in the full frame.
- Trailing by ten at the end of the first half, the Purple Eagles came out of the locker room on a 7-2 spurt, cutting the Bobcats' lead in half.
- The visitors kept the deficit to six with three minutes remaining in the third quarter, but they would not get closer. Quinnipiac went on an 8-0 run over the final 2:38 to enter enter the final frame with a 49-35 lead.
- The Bobcats scored the first 11 points of the fourth quarter to complete a 19-0 run and extend the lead to 60-35.
- Niagara scored seven of the game's final nine points to close the gap to 20 points at the final buzzer.
- Quinnipiac extended its winning streak to 11 games and remain the only unbeaten team in the MAAC.
- The Bobcats improve to 13-0 all-time against the Purple Eagles. Niagara is one of five MAAC teams that have never defeated Quinnipiac.
- Strautmane also contributed three assists, three steals, and two blocks to the effort.
- Warfel added two assists and a steal to her career-best outing. The game marks the eighth time in 11 games that the junior has pulled down at least six boards and the eighth time in that span that she has scored at least ten points.
- Brittany Martin scored ten points and shot a perfect six-of-six from the free throw line. The effort was her eighth double-digit outing in MAAC play this season.
