Bobcats Improve to 14-0 All-Time Against Rider
HAMDEN, Conn. – Seniors Aryn McClure (22 points) and Paula Strautmane (18 points) both posted season-highs and led Quinnipiac women's basketball to a 72-56 victory over the second-place Rider Broncs on Sunday afternoon.
The win moves the Bobcats to 10-0 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) while Rider falls to 7-2 in conference play. It is the 41st-straight victory in MAAC play for the Bobcats over the course of the last three seasons.

Tricia Fabbri's squad remains on its home court next weekend when the Niagara Purple Eagles and Canisius Golden Griffins both visit the People's United Center. Niagara arrives for a 7:00 p.m. contest on Thursday, February 7 and Canisius tests the Bobcats on Saturday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m. The contest against Canisius will also be Senior Day for the Bobcats. Fans are encouraged to arrive by 1:30 for the ceremony honoring the five graduating seniors.

- Rider opened the scoring with a quick 7-0 run in 1:08. McClure scored the next seven points to tie the game at 7-7 heading into the day's first media timeout.
- The teams traded the lead four times down the stretch in the first quarter before the Bobcats closed on a 6-0 run over the final 1:08 of the period to take a 17-13 lead.
- After the Bobcats stretched the lead to eight points, Rider drew within two with three straight buckets but would not get any closer for the remainder of the afternoon.
- Stella Johnson did her best to keep Rider close, scoring 22 points in 28 minutes on the floor, but the Bobcats used an 18-11 third quarter to open up a 55-42 advantage.
- Quinnipiac with six of the first seven points to extend the lead to 18, only to see Rider pull within ten thanks to back-to-back Stella Johnson threes.
- The Bobcats closed on an 11-5 run to fend off Rider's rally attempt.
- Quinnipiac extended its winning streak to ten games and remain the only unbeaten team in the MAAC.
- The Bobcats improve to 14-0 all-time against the Broncs. Rider is one of five MAAC teams that have never defeated Quinnipiac.
- McClure added eight rebounds, three assists, and a steal to her season-high 22-point outing. The senior has posted four straight double-digit games and has moved into 16th all-time on Quinnipiac's scoring list. Her three assists also moved her into tenth place on the program's all-time list.
- Strautmane recorded five steals on the afternoon, giving her ten steals in her last two games.
- Paige Warfel contributed seven points and eight rebounds, marking the eighth time in ten games that the junior has pulled down at least six boards.
