Young Breaks His Own D1 Single-Season Scoring Record, Bobcats Move to 10-6 in Conference Action
WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Quinnipiac men's basketball earned its 10th MAAC victory of the season on Sunday afternoon, topping Monmouth on the road by the final score of 68-56.
Cameron Young led the way with 25 points, breaking his own Division I single-season scoring record (622) – which was set in 2017-18. Young now has 624 career points.
Young also broke the program's Division I single-season record for 3-pointers, surpassing James Johnson's total of 84 shots from distance in 2010-11. Young now has 85 made 3-point field goals this season.
Rich Kelly added 22 points of his own, going 6-for-10 from 3-point distance.

- Quinnipiac shot 17-of-49 (34.7 percent) from the floor, knocking down 13 more 3-pointers in the win. The Bobcats have made 294 3-point field goals as a team, needing just 10 more to break the program's Division I single-season record.
- The Bobcats went on a 9-0 run to end the first half, capped off by a pair of Cameron Young free throws after drawing a foul with 0.2 seconds remaining to help QU take a 35-25 lead in to the break.
- Quinnipiac outrebounded Monmouth 42-30 in total, and the Bobcats went 21-for-25 from the free throw line.
- Young's 25 points came on 5-of-15 shooting. The graduate guard went 12-of-13 from the free throw line. He has now scored 20+ points in 14 of the last 15 games.
- Kelly's 22 points came on 7-of-12 shooting in total. He added three rebounds, and has now recorded 20+ points in two of his last three contests.
- Freshman Tyrese Williams recorded 10 points, a season-high nine rebounds and two assists in the win, going 2-for-5 from 3-point distance.
- Kevin Marfo added seven rebounds, while Jacob Rigoni recorded a team-high four assists.
- Travis Atson chipped in with six points and five rebounds in the win.
- The Bobcats have now won 10 MAAC regular season games for the first time since 2013-14, when the program went 14-6.
- The Bobcats are back in action on Friday, March 1, traveling to Saint Peter's for their final road contest of the 2018-19 regular season. Quinnipiac's final home game of the season is on March 3 vs. Manhattan – which will also be Senior Day.
